Caledonian Society of Bermuda - Hogmanay Ball
Venue: Fairmont Hamilton Princess
Date: Friday December 31, 2010 at 7.30pm.
It is a widely-known fact that the Scots know how to celebrate New Year’s Eve in style! Such is our enthusiasm for the last day of the year that we even have our own word for it (Hogmanay), with the Edinburgh Hogmanay Street Party being the biggest New Year event in the world. Luckily, the Caledonian Society of Bermuda have stepped in to save you the plane fare and are bringing a little piece of Scotland to you in Bermuda!
Our famous Hogmanay Ball will be at the Fairmont Hamilton Princess on Friday, December 31st. The event kicks off with an open-bar cocktail reception from 7.30pm with a rendition of Auld Lang Syne at 8pm (midnight in Scotland). At 8.30pm, we will be seated for a delicious Scottish-themed four-course dinner with wine included. You can also expect party favours, a raffle, champagne at midnight and DJ King Arthur keeping you on the dancefloor until 3am. Dress code is black tie and tickets are $175 each, including everything but additional drinks. Proceeds go towards various community charities.

Caledonian Society of Bermuda - St. Andrews Day Ball
Venue: Fairmont Southampton Princess - Poinciana Ball Room
Date: November 27, 2010 at 6.30pm.
Don your kilts and raise your quaichs – it’s almost time for The Caledonian Society of Bermuda's St. Andrew's Ball 2010! This will take place at the Fairmont Southampton on Saturday, November 27th. You do NOT need to be Scottish to attend – you just have to enjoy good food, good company, drinking, dancing or any combination of those. The event kicks off with a cocktail reception from 6.30pm until 7.30pm. We are seated at 8pm for dinner, served after the Grand March and MC’s welcome. The four-course dinner will be followed by the ceilidh portion of the evening (Scottish dancing, pronounced kay-lee), with live music from the Bermuda Islands Pipe Band, and then you can dance the night away until 2am with DJ King Arthur.
Don’t worry if you’re not fortunate enough to be Scottish and don’t know the moves – we will teach you! There will be a free practice run at Spanish Point Boat Club on the Wednesday before the Ball (November 24th from 7pm until 9.30pm) to show you the basics. Even if you miss that, you will be able to pick it up easily on the night. Any of you who have been before can testify that it’s not that complicated!
A new addition this year, as well as the pipe band leading everyone into the ballroom as normal, there will be an exhibition of highland dancing by some junior members of the Bermuda Island Pipe Band Highland Dancers.

Tickets can be purchased for individuals, couples or whole tables (tables are either for 10 or 12 people). For the first time, we are accepting online payments through Premier Tickets.
