We are very pleased to announce that our next event, the Caledonian Society of Bermuda's Annual Burns Supper for 2013, will be at Tucker's Point Hotel and Spa on Saturday, January 26th.
A Burns Supper is a celebration of the life and poetry of the Scottish poet Robert Burns, author of many famous poems and songs. A few examples include Auld Lang Syne (yes, the one we all sing at New Year), To a Mouse (the phrase "the best laid schemes o' mice and men gang aft agley" comes from this poem) and Tam O' Shanter (considered by many to be one of the best examples of the narrative poem in European literature).
You do NOT have to be a literary buff to enjoy this (Burns himself was a renowned drunken womaniser), you just have to enjoy cocktails, dinner, poetry and entertaining toasts and speeches.
The pre-dinner cocktail reception (cash bar) will be from 6.30pm until 7.15pm, with the five-course dinner beginning at 7.30pm. The ticket price is $85 per person and available from IHind@becl.bm or online at www.ptix.bm. The link to the event on Facebook is here.
Please bear in mind that this event sold out last year so don't delay in getting your tickets!
